Arsenal have completed the long-mooted signing of Mathieu Debuchy from Newcastle United for a fee of around £10m.
Alan Pardew’s team have wasted no time in replacing him though, with
Holland’s World Cup star Daryl Janmaat with the two deals being
confirmed by the clubs almost simultaneously.
Debuchy was at St James’ Park for 18 months, following a move from Lille, where he had spent all of his previous career.
At 28, he is now in his pomp and was a key player in France’s run to the quarter-finals of Brazil 2014.
