Arsenal have agreed personal terms with Toulouse defender Serge
Aurier and now hope to complete an £8million deal to bring him to the
Emirates Stadium.
Aurier has been strongly linked with a switch to Arsenal all summer,
with the club in need of a new right-back following the departure of
Bacary Sagna to Manchester City.
And now L’Equipe and Get French Football report that the Gunners have
agreed terms to sign the Ivory Coast international on a long-term deal –
and now only need to agree a fee with Toulouse.
Arsenal’s opening offer is £8million and Arsene Wenger is now waiting
to hear from the French club as to whether it has been accepted.
Aurier has accepted Arsenal’s offer of a five-year contract on terms
worth £60,000-a-week, and a transfer could now be completed quickly.
Liverpool and QPR have previously shown an interest in the defender, who can also play left-back or in midfield.
