Mandzukic puts Arsenal and Chelsea on red alert

The striker, whose contract expires in 2016, has confirmed he will leave Bayern Munich after becoming frustrated with the club's style of play under Pep Guardiola
Mario Mandzukic has confirmed he will leave Bayern Munich this summer, putting Arsenal and Chelsea on red alert.

The striker vowed to fight for his place following the announcement of the signing of Robert Lewandowski in January, but an exit became increasingly likely for the Croatian, who has admitted Bayern's style of play under Pep Guardiola does not suit him.

The news will likely interest Arsene Wenger, who has promised Gunners fans a busy summer, while Chelsea will also be looking to bolster their attacking options, with Diego Costa due to move to Stamford Bridge, while Samuel Eto'o and Romelu Lukaku are on their way out.

"At Bayern it was fantastic. It's a fantastic club. Indeed, until recently I didn't even think about leaving, and especially that it would happen now," he told Sportske novosti.
