Arsenal face Aurier fight, says agent

Despite holding preliminary talks over a move for the Toulouse right-back in May, the Gunners have not held further discussions, according to the player's representative
Arsenal face competition from another English club for Toulouse right-back Serge Aurier, according to the player’s agent.

Goal exclusively revealed in May that Arsene Wenger’s side had opened preliminary talks with the Ligue 1 club over a €9 million deal for the 21-year-old, who is lined up as a replacement for Bacary Sagna.

But Aurier’s agent, Stephane Courbis, claims Arsenal have not followed up their interest in his client, who is in Cote d'Ivoire's 23-man World Cup squad, and has revealed another Premier League club are competing for the defender’s signature.

"There is no agreement with Arsenal or anyone else," Courbis told RMC.

"There have been discussions with Arsenal in the past, but it's been a while since there has been any talks.

"To tell you the truth, we are even talking to another English club, so there is really nothing to act upon."
