Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez has most direct goal contributions and assists in this year’s Champions League

Stat: Out-of-form Arsenal star is still Champions League's most dangerous player
Alexis Sanchez isn’t even really in form yet and he’s still the most dangerous player in the Champions League.
The Chilean has, by his own ridiculously high standards, endured something of a below-par campaign this season, with the sheer number of games he’s player potentially sapping his near-endless energy reserves.
But despite that, Sanchez has still been directly involved in seven goals in this year’s Champions League, which is the highest tally across the competition.
Sanchez increased his total with two goals and an assist in Arsenal’s 3-0 triumph over Dinamo Zagreb, which has left them with a fighting chance of qualifying from the group.

Arsenal fans are claiming Mesut Ozil is now better than Dennis Bergkamp

Arsenal fans are actually saying Ozil is now better than club legend
There’s no doubting Arsenal’s Mesut Ozil put in a blinder against Dinamo Zagreb in the Champions League on Tuesday night but some fans may be getting a bit carried away.
Ozil is understandably one of the early favourites to be named Player of the Year after a barnstorming run of form in the Premier League where he has already grabbed 11 assists for the north London outfit.
But some Gooners are now claiming the German playmaker is a better player than Dennis Bergkamp ever was – a statement that’ll be viewed as sacrilege in certain corners of the Emirates.
While Ozil has put in half a good season for the Gunners after two underwhelming campaigns, the legendary Dutch forward was consistently world-class across his 11 seasons in the capital.
Sometimes it’s easy to be swayed by nostalgia but Ozil surely has some work to do before he can be mentioned in the same breath as Bergkamp.

The Gunners’ potential stars of the future are shown pulling off various skills for Uefa’s ‘Skill School’ feature ahead of their Youth Champions League match against Dinamo Zagreb this week.
Most of the squad proved they have some pretty silky skills, with left-back Ilias Chatzitheodoridis impressing early on in the video.

Manchester United ready to pay Cristiano Ronaldo’s huge wages to seal transfer

Man United agree to pay superstar's astronomical wages to seal transfer - report

Manchester United are ready to pay Cristiano Ronaldo’s giant wages to bring him back to Old Trafford, according to reports.
Ronaldo is looking increasingly likely to be leaving Real Madrid in the coming months and United are battling Paris Saint-Germain for his services.
PSG appear to be front-runners, but Spanish outlet Fichajes says United are happy to pay Ronaldo’s huge wage demands to sign him up.
Ronaldo is believed to earn about £288,000-a-week at Madrid – so the Red Devils would have to at least match that.
With the Portugal captain turning 31 in February, his next contract is likely to be his last and United will hope it’s with them.

Arsene Wenger reveals that Calum Chambers could play in defensive midfield after Francis Coquelin’s injury

Wenger reveals Arsenal's new holding midfielder after Coquelin injury blow
Arsene Wenger has revealed that he has a trick up his sleeve to replace injured star Francis Coquelin.
The Arsenal boss confirmed that Coquelin will be out for at least the next two months in what seems a devastating blow for the Gunners.
But Wenger thinks that Calum Chambers could be the answer to their defensive midfield problem.
‘We have players that can play in [Coquelin’s] position,’ he said.
And with Mikel Arteta also out, he could feature against Dinamo Zagreb.
‘Chambers has been educated in that position.’

Coquelin is out for at least two months
The Arsenal boss has also revealed that he will look to the January transfer market if Coquelin is out for the rest of the season.
‘I’ll do what’s needed in January even though in January it is not an ideal transfer market.’
